Boston 6th May 1978 - a better transfer?

I downloaded this gig a while back, and I thought, my tape didn't have that ticking noise on it...it had some sort of ticking / interference noise, almost like static.


However I have now found my tape is subject to a lot of wow and flutter (speed wobble)

I've found this with quite a few old tapes : whether it's the fact I've not listened to bootlegs as much as I once used to, that I've now noticed it, or whether it's the tapes decaying with age, or worse if I've inadvertently stored them close to wiring (ie magnetism?).


I know as much anyone else how long it can take to get around to transferring recordings and uploading...it took me long enough!

However I've found that this is one of the better 1978 recordings : I'm not wild about mono recordings, which rules a lot out, I found my Cologne 78 tape was subject to bass shift to the right, very hissy, and a lot of wow and flutter (again), and having once liked Copenhagen 31.5.78, a few years back now, I noticed that despite its high recording quality, it's quite a dull gig for some reason, an off night for the band. I have similar feelings about the later '78 recordings in Japan in particular, although they did perk up for the Tokyo TV broadcast gig!

For those reasons I hope to find a better transfer of 6th May 78, and I think others would enjoy it too - so if anyone has one, please torrent it!

I do have gigs from tape that stand up better upon transfer myself than the 'wobbly' ones I allude to (although most have an element of that), but very little if any that I've not seen on MWP and the like. If I find I do have something a bit different I'll torrent it. In the meantime, dare I say, I may have (dirty word) Iggy torrents planned!
