All the songs he cowrote in Tin Machine were decent:
Come to think of it, if you condensed both Tin Machine albums down to 1 album with just the Gabrels co-writing credits, you have a very decent album:
Under The God
Tin Machine
I Can't Read
Amazing
Prisoner Of Love
Bus Stop
Baby Universal
One Shot
YBIRAR
Amlapura
Shopping For Girls
You Can't Talk
Betty Wrong
Which makes me think he was a decent songwriter.
Interesting that Bowie should create one of his best albums immediately after parting ways from Gabrels - Heathen.

Interesting after recording Heathen he recorded one his worst albums Reality. David is pretty much useless without having someone around like Reeves or Eno to get the creative juices going.

A couple more more FYIs:
This tour is pretty much back to basics for Reeves -- power trio, small venues, his material and/or arrangements. The largest room is the Regent Theatre (500) in Arlington, Mass (Boston) on 22 July.
He plays (and sings) "Bus Stop" with this trio; I think it's the only one of his co-writes with Bowie he does at the moment.
