The band consisted of: David Bowie (vocals, acoustic guitar), Mark Plati (guitar, bass guitar), Gail Ann Dorsey (bass guitar), Page Hamilton (lead guitar), Mike Garson (keyboards), Sterling Campbell (drums), Holly Palmer and Emm Gryner (backing vocals).
Saw the girls and Platis sideburns but the video was quite blocky.

I smile and go off waving
(Amiably) - for that's my way
You can see me leaning on the edge of the stage in front of DB. Happy days! My friend is in a band who rehearsed at J*** ****'* rehearsal studio at the same time as DB and band were rehearsing for this and Live Aid.
I've searched high and low and can't find out who it is. He did Netaid that day too (supposedly with Sterling). There used to be a section of a Bowie site that listed all the musicians that he'd worked with, but I can't remember which one it was and I can't find it.
Searching about for Bowie drummers, however, I discovered that DB has played drums on some of his own records (something I'd never picked up on before). Cool!
...hmm yes good 'ole Page Hamilton.., watching Paris 1999 reminds of how much I like his sound in the band these days....wish he was on Storytellers instead of mister Gabrels with his '-fill every second with guitar-' sound...
Net Aid was Saturday, the day after TFI Friday. I do remember it was a Saturday as I thought it was cool that Bowie played Drive In Saturday
Bowie, Stereophonics & Bush were my favourite acts at Net Aid. Catatonia, Eurythmics & George Michael were not too far behind.
Robbie Williams was just annoying. Bryan Adams had the crowd eating out of his hand after playing Summer Of '69, until they realised it was a new song they were clapping to, then everyone stopped.
Now i remember Kevin Armstrong played at Live Aid too, so there`s a big Prefab Sprout connection there.
And of course that Live Aid band recorded Dancing In The Street and Absolute Beginners, with added musicians on both records.
Just lookin at Dancing In The Streets, and noticed Earl Slick plays on it, which id forgotten about, and G.E. Smith.
Anyone remember what previous thing Mr Smith played on ??
