now as a completely new departure to suit his present lifestyle.
His dulcet cockney tones would grace a good documentary on art, British music, and myriad other wonderful subjects.
What d'yall think?
<<He could be the next talking clock!>> imagine that with the old Cliche Bowie singing voice that pople use when doing him "the time is haaaalf past Eiight"
Trouble is doc we would never be able to plan anything, and we would possibly always be late everywhere because Bowie would always be flexing time like a whore to suit himself, rather than us
David Bowie had an acutely blocked artey and needed an op to clear it. If anyone here has or knows someone who has had this procedure they will understand that the heart is damaged! and even after a stent it is unlikely that the blockage was cleared100%
David will be no doubt get great medicare, but,he will probably have to use a coro-nitrate pump spray for the rest of his life.
Glycery nitrate sprayed under his tongue will ease his angina pains as he feels them.
Even after five years he will probably still have heart damage.
Angioplast rarely clears the blockage 100% as there are varying degrees of success with this procedure.
For Bowie to ever tour again he will have had to have had a 100% success with the op and the heart will have had to have healed and without any traces of angina! The guy is in his sixties and it don't take a genius to understand why he is putting his family first.
I think the constant moaning about the lack of new Bowie record deserves your attention Lee, I have merely pointed out a few times this week that there is VALID reason for no new product!
Along with other staunch fans of DB here, I too am aware of the very real probability that Bowie will not tour again despite a lot of other fans here virtually demanding that he takes to the stage once more. That would be too taxing after that heart scare needless to say. I have made posts here in the last few years which are in favour of him doing studio work at his own leisure or to have an active hand in some sort of musical output for other bands, etc. Quite the contrary to what you are implying by your reply to my post. But at the mere mention of a valid suggestion as to where he could(he really doesn't HAVE to)go with his later career, you pounce rather unfairly in my opinion. DON'T lump me in with some of the philistines here who want to see him thrash out bleedin' 'Rebel Rebel' until he collapses in death spasms at Dublin point or wherever. I am in the more contemplative fandom camp, even though my Northern grammar sometimes isn't as eloquent as some of the 'intellectuals' here.
<< I like his spoken introduction to The Snowman, it adds depth to the story. >>
It certainly did Mr T! about 30 feet worth depth in the snows of cringeworthy ness. If there was any justice in the world, he would have disappeared into it at the time, blushing with embarrassment.
The animated movie is a family christmas classic with an excellent score and Bowie's spoken intro is the only voice heard through the entire film.
When I awoke the room was filled with light and I knew then it was to be a magical day.
I thought that the 35 year old Bowie looked pretty dignified relaying the story of his childhood nocturnal adventure/ dream. Seemed to look exactly how he does on the Fashions pic disc wallet.
I guess if you were more used to seeing Bowie wearing a leotard, high heels and make up, the 1982 Bowie look must have been embarrassing to you.
I am surprised no one's mentioned the feature length Bowie narration called Hollywood Rocks The Movies. Maybe it's not very known in the UK (I got it from a friend in the US). Here is the IMDB link:
I've considered it an underutilized resource for some time. I've got a couple of ideas for using his voice in animated films, but not that crap voice he did for Spongebob; his real one.
