this film about the life of Lewis Carrol.
It seems like it's gonna be spooky and kooky
and it is written, directed and staring (in II roles)
that adorable weirdo-uncle type guy named Marilyn.
.
So long as it isn't in the same vein as this!
I was excited to go and s@@ a movie about a super-hero
with sensational olfactory abilities. But the movie got
dark fast and got worse from there... literally had
to leave before the ending as it grossed me out so.
.
This is the stinker here (below, in picture)

So Uncle black-lipstick and rubber-suit, if you manage
scare me silly and not gross me out, I'll see YOU at the movies.
I'll be the one twisting in the back with the bottom
cut out of my pop-corn-cup. buah-ha-ha-ha-haaaaa

I'll be watching that later Dr Ink! They reckon the book was excellent so we'll see. I'm not particularly 'grossed out' by stuff so I'll see if it's any good.

There was a movie called "Dreamchild" about the elderly Alice Liddell (who is brought to America by a promoter for a lecture tour) and her relationship with Lewis Carroll's books, which was far from happy. There were these messed-up-looking puppets in it and a creepy atmosphere all round. Good movie if you can find it.

Hmm just watched this one Dr and it was kind of like an adult fairy tale I suppose. A case of style over substance maybe, I think it would have been a lot better if directed by Ken Russell!

Being born in the fishmonger's bucket was, emm
difficult to watch.... and that was like one
minute into the picture!! (jeepers, wonder how
the canteen did that evening?) Ken Russel? I donno.. literally.
.
I thought there were gonna be a "smellarama" or something, where different scents could be digitally infused into the theater for the intensification of imagery and to help involve the audience in the plot.... but only the usual stinkers were there.

I remember years ago seeing John Waters 'Polyester' where they gave you scratch and sniff cards. When a number came up on screen you scratched the appropriate box to get a whiff of bacon and eggs, etc. Good fun even if the smells didn't really smell like what they were supposed to!

In regard to Perfume I think the birth scene was there at the beginning to give you a cinematic slap in the face and let you know the type of time these people were living in.

I loved those houses on the bridge, beautiful!

Shame you missed the end Dr there was a massive orgy! (which in turn reminded me of Ken Russell and the nuns!) wink.gif

The book's like that, too, only with minute descriptions of the unbelievable filth that people used to live in all the way through, and a very cold-blooded approach to human life.
