HR Review of 'Bandslam'

The Hollywood Reporter describes it as what a collaboration between Cameron Crowe and the Late John Hughes, starring a handful of Disney Channel teen stars, but in a good way.

It's worthy of mention primarily (perhaps exclusively) because it features possibly the only look we're going to get of our idol in our year of grace 2009.

I think where it says in the cast list that David Bowie plays "Himself", that is the very definition of a "cameo".

If I recollect, he described his contribution to the film as something like 10 seconds of his patented affectless stare. It's the context that will make it interesting or not (In 'Rear Window', Mr. Hitchcock used the same shot of James Stewart three times, and because the context is different, so is how you read his expression. Check it out.).
