excel doc

anyone any good at excel? I am stumped trying to alter text in multiple columns....

Excel is part of Microsoft's evil scheme to confuse and frustrate people trapped in offices. I'd try opening it in Word and editing it in that format, then put commas between the parts you want to separate and re-import it into Excel.
Anyone have a better solution?

thanks for that... unfortunately theres commas everywhere.... and in places I dont want to seperate... i made a formula to edit letters as numbers... so that works.... but thanks! its really fustrating

You should be able to change the formatting of text across an entire column by clicking the column title (ie. clicking on where it says "1" in column 1 - this selects it) then make the change.

Pretty sure multiple columns can be selected by holding down the SHIFT or OPTION keys then clicking those column titles.

My husband was a Perfect Master of Oracle but he hated Excel. I see why. It's a black art.
