A - - - Fmaj7 - - - G - - - G#dim

Those are the chords for the verses, bridge and chorus!

Although, during the chorus the descending bass line for the A chord goes: C#,B, A, F#

It was a co-write. Bowie did the music, someone else did the lyrics.... Any ideas?

Good guess, but no, it's relatively recent. I thought the co-write aspect might throw people.

If you have a keyboard or guitar just try playing those chords and the words will come!

Joe, that's a good example of a Bowie song which Bowie or Iggy didn't write the lyrics for. But alas it isn't that one.

The answer is...... here happy.gif

Oooh! *shakes fist!" Good one!

Here's another poser - which two different Bowie songs share the exact same chord progression and key, and are even on the same album?

Hmm, can't answer that one as I've just been on a fantastic voyage.

Well, you boys keep swinging and I'll go speak to my lodger.

"Fantastic Voyage" and "Boys Keep Swinging"

Edit - GAH! Sorry Alan, didn't see your answer there.

I think I'll just bow out of Bowie trivia for today, I'm obviously off my game.

While we're on this subject, if I started a thread about Bowie's theory of chord progressions, would you be interested?

Certainly. I recollect him saying in an early interview that he used chords that no one else used. I always thought there was a lot of music in his music, if you ken.

Do you remember your President Nixon?
