Non-Bowie but one of the best mood lifts i ever got from a song on the way to work was "Octopuss' Garden". I was grinning ear to ear after that.

I prefer the sound of the city.

My city is rather monotonous - the legendary L.A. traffic is more-or-less constant. I discovered an iPhone trick this morning while my fave radio station was fundraising: I bought an app that gives me radio broadcasts over the Web, and I can plug the phone into the car stereo and listen to BBC (or whatever) on my car. It's the cheap version of satellite radio.
