A guilty secret but Godard has never really 'turned me on'. I found Chinoise, Week End and Pierrot le fou interesting for the way in which they were made but very boring as cinematic experiences go. I must admit I did watch many of his films years ago as part of a course on film making though and perhaps I need to re-evaluate them.
As far as French cinema of the time goes I'd much rather watch a Melville, Clouzot, Bresson or Cocteau.
She makes me laugh, she makes me cry
With a twinkle of her eye
She flies like a bird in the sky
She flies like a bird and I wish that she was mine
She flies like a bird oh me oh my
I see her sigh.
Now I know, I can't let Maggie go
We walk here, we walk there
People stop, and people stare.
Because she flies like a bird in the sky
She flies like a bird and I wish, oh yes I wish that she was mine
She flies like a bird oh me oh my
I see her sigh.
Now I know, I can't let Maggie go

It's an odd-looking apparatus; hard to see how anything can fall out of it, but if there's a way, a six-year-old boy will find it. I hope they find him in one piece.
