that was f@ckin' amazing ... 60 yrs old still looks great and in TOTAL command of the stage.... just 5 brief years ago surely he still has "it" ... come back mr. bowie.

saw reality twice and never got diamond dogs ... slicky sounds great.i am nicking this for FB.

I saw Reality four times but DD only once in Amsterdam 11-06-2004; was my personal highlight of the tour together with STS

Is it just me? am I alone in thinking Earl Slick looks just a bit pretentious with that fag stuck in his mouth, I mean come on Earl baby that look went out when Noah was a lad.

With Bowie the way his band and backing singers looked and performed was just as important as the main man himself. I'm quite surprised that Bowie allowed him to look like that but then again it just sums up the Reality tour for me i.e. a big money tour but lacked attention to the finer details when it came to the performance from an artistic view point which made other tours special. Standing there with a fag in your mouth might have looked cool and trendy a few years ago, but these days even back in 2004 a guitarist doing such a thing the way Slick is doing it here just makes him look a bit of a dick quite frankly

Apart from that, Bowie's performance here was indeed a good one, and I particularly like his jacket which is one of the better clothes items from his Reality period

I watched it yesterday and I thought it was some kind of 'in joke' amongst the band, Earl Slick taking the piss out of Keef Richards, with the cigarette and the way he's running around!

When was it Keef fell out of the tree? It would have been around that time, I think.

..I was thinking exactly the same thing! it looks a lot like a Keith parody and indeed an inside joke to me

I suppose it's quite possible that you are both correct and I have missed the joke, but it still troubles me a bit because with Bowie the artistic finer details always came before any piss taking that might have affected the look of the show.

To me its like Bowie couldn't give a toss anymore about the professional look of a gig he does.

Maybe I'm just being hyper critical but when you consider what went before, then to me joking and piss taking if that's what it was? just cheapens the act, and therein lies one of my problems with Bowie in his later years including the Reality period i.e. he was fast becoming an artist that I couldn't take as seriously as I once could.

I agree it was a fine rendition but the naffness I mentioned doesn't sit well with the status I put on David Bowie.I'm sorry if that offends but it's how I see it, I can't help it.

It's when I see things like this that it makes me glad he has most likely retired. In other words do it properly like you used to do it db or don't do it at all.
