Both are brilliant and experimental English artists. The lack of a significant Gabriel/Bowie collaboration or connection to date has always been a real void in the music ether.
Exactly. I have always wanted to see the 2 of them collaborate on something. It would be great to see them work TOGETHER. I am looking forward to this. I have been a fan of both all my life. Gabriel first few albums are masterpieces. The both of them should get together with Eno and record.
'You start out wrinkled and you cry...you end up wrinkled and you die.'
Sounds like a brilliant plan - anything that gets DB recording again has got to be a good thing. A Bowie version of "Exposure" would be cool.
Cheers,
Richard
I had a severe and long lasting affinity for Gabriel.... I think he's swell and a well grounded song writer who has a symphathetic ear for beauty and texture. I like Peter and hope his project well. I am not able to listen to things that I like the way that I would like to as of late because of some social constipation I picked up while spending my time dallying along the way, but now those days have recompense and before long I will enjoy my music with horned daffy-dill blooming from my ear.
I haven't heard much about peter gabriel since 2002 or 03, i know Peter is a bowie fan. It would be nice if Bowie would record least one new track, But i can see him turning it down, due to other commitments on a sponge-bob sequel or some other lame excuses

I don't mind so much but please please please not another cover of Heroes. Sick to death of it. Bowie would be the ideal candidate for Red Rain. That songs kind of lends itself to him.
Peter Gabriels great ! but I can't see Bowie struggling to sing any of his songs ?
Anyone here seen P.Gabriel ? I saw him in 1977 ,I think that's when it was anyway ? He was really good I remember him walking among the audience whilst dressed in white attire a little biblical , he never got mobbed , but I guess his audience was a little older than a Bowie crowd ? its a long time ago but I think he did The Lamb lies down on Broadway dressed in leather whilst sprawled across a grand piano ! this was at the Apollo Manchester .
Somewhere on Youtube there's a really cool film of him doing Biko live , its really moving !

Yeah, but the problem is, and he admitted it himself, he can't reach some of those notes anymore. He needed Gail, and Catherine, on the last tour to augment the parts that his larynx could no longer reach.

I'd guess that the real reason for him having Gail and Catherine would just be for the overall effect and sound ? what he actually says could mean nothing ,he's a notorious liar [one of the reasons we love him] I've never heard him fluff a note and I've seen him 20 odd times down the years , [ a lightweight I know] the only song he kinda gets a frog in his throat on is the Stage version of Stay ,but he redeems himself beautifully !
For me a great example of his singing skill is on that backstage footage from the Freddie Mercury memorial gig , Annie Lennox is being all dramatic in her approach [as usual] and sounds bloody awful ]whereas he's just stood there looking at her , and sound bloody perfect !its the clip where he's wearing that blue jacket .
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's better than everyone else , I just think he's so aware of his own skills and capabilities !
Back to Peter Gabriel , what about Slowburn, perhaps they could create a hybrid ?
