I recently discovered this band.

A bit late maybe but okay.

I now own 3 SACD's of them and there are 2 more and a boxset in the mail.

I love their music. At the moment I'm listening to their first album. It's great and does sound a bit '80
but I like that.

Any other DCD fans on here?

Bettina

Dead Can Dance are one of my favourite bands too.
"The Host Of Seraphim" the opening song on their 1989 album The Serpent's Egg, is one of the most emotional peices of music I've ever heard. It truly brings me to tears almost every time I hear it, and since 1989 that's been hundreds of times. Lisa Gerrard's "Sanvean" is almost as good and touches my heart every time.
In concert DCD used to often play a load of unrecorded songs. Many of these remain unreleased so DCD bootlegs are well worth hunting down for the wealth of excellent unreleased songs.
I'm not a big fan of their first album - a weird cross between the Banshees and the Cocteau Twins underpinned with some very clunky drum machines! Well it was 1984. But they hit upon their marvellous gothic classical ambience with the second album Spleen And Ideal and went from strength to strength.
Superb band.
Cheers,
Richard
