According to lead singer Botham Hawkins from the Irish band RELIEF - via a newly posted youtube video (Jan 3).

They were in the studio next to him.

PLANET VERGE:

When you were here, you were recording next to David Bowie, right?

BOTHAM HAWKINS:

"Yeah, we were in Studio A and [David Bowie] was in Studio B and so you've got this kind of weird one up - we're in A, he is in B - but it was great to see him - lovely guy.

Um and it was a reaffirming experience that you are on the right path when you are doing what you love and there are people you grew up with who you were listening to and they are listening to you saying 'hey good job, keep going'.

I'd love to get excited about this, but with only two albums in a decade, I'm want to believe that at best-it's probably just some remixing on a re-release, and at worst some ooohs on Scarlet's next effort.

for Space Oddity 40th or STS would be my bet. Although, I was working in Ireland a few years ago and I recall reading a similar story in a local paper in Galway. I kept it, so I'll try to fish it out.

The room that Bowie was in has - according to the studio website - excellent recording and multi-tracking capabilities (in addition to good mixing capability as well):

and mixing are entirely different things.

I'm with Sean, though. An instrumental album would be great.

is it a swedish sauna aswell?
more seriously, this recording studio looks really beautiful !
it's good to record at home sometimes but a studio....is always better.
Unfortunatly I don't believe Bowie is recording there a new album.
I hope I am wrong.

I was about to say that too Rhoda; the bit about the 'Space Oddity' and/or 'Station To Station' reissue mixes. Either way, I hope he does a bit of dabbling here and there with a musical idea. I can accept it if he doesn't wish to do live gigs anymore. Entirely his prerogative, if that's where he's at. It would be cool to hear something new at some point though. Hope all is well/Peace/Later.

Id be suprised if it was mixing for any back catalogue stuff we already know about.
On the TARGET cd the trax included, were stated as from forthcoming releases, which implies to me, all the work on those things are done and ready, and have been for some time.
All will be revealed im sure happy.gif

Love On.

Sounds promising (unless Scar-Jo is making a new album of Carpenters covers).

I'm hoping for something soothing and even instrumental.

Please please please. He don't need to gig. I would rather he took his time over well crafted studio albums.

And I hope he only releases them on vinyl too.
