that's a hard one. Probably the title track followed by Madmen.

This album and Ziggy were the first ones I heard (a friend owned them) - cant remember which one first. Hooked from then on. Its underrated and very good with some great playing by Ronno.

Wok - apparently Lightnin' Frightnin' is faded in alledgedly becaause of damage to the master tape right at the beginning. Nice that what there is of it is remastered though. I have a downloaded mp3 of the complete thing but it is less good in quality.

what a gem of an album, bowie's best.
i want a super deluxe reissue of this more than any other.
it blows me away every time i listen to this which is often, more often than any other bowie album.
this is the work of a genius.
i love its mystery and darkness and lyrically it has never been bettered.
every track is a killer, if i really had to choose one it would probably be saviour machine.

brave choice norman going for she shook me cold.
personally i really like it, as i do the whole album, but most will probably tell you its the weakest song on the album. thats why it's so good you have chosen it, just shows how strong this album really is and that theres not a bad track on the album.

Has to be "The Man Who Sold The World" but the whole album is excellent.
I keep hoping for de-luxe editions of this and Hunky Dory to "fill the gap".
Then we could look forward to a lovely boxed set of Low, Heroes and Lodger.....

hm i love saviour machine my favourite,and i also love black country rock, what a fantastic riff, short on lyrics but it does'nt take anything away from it.
i want a special edition of this album more than any other.
wonder if it will be given to visconti to remaster and remix it?, i should imagine it will be.

The title track is fantastic of course it is, but I have always slightly preferred the Lu Lu version with Bowie on backing vocals.
yeah! I know I probably deserve to be shot

i also really like lulu's version.
love those backing vocals,sax and ronnos guitar.
not so sure i would put it above bowie's own version, but as cover versions go of bowie songs, its probably the best.

I also like the Lu lu version of Watch That Man as well.

it's sad that only 4 of these tracks have ever been performed live.
not one track was even performed on the sound and vision tour.
seems that even bowie overlooks this album, i wonder why?
maybe he does'nt see it as his own album and more of a collaborative effort.
would have loved to see this album more than any other performed live in it's entirety.

Just think of how "The Man Who Saved The World" has always come to David's aid when he's needed it. It completed the 1970 album as it was recorded near the end of the sessions, it was revitalized in 1979, it brought in a whole new audience in 1994 and I say even the 1995 re-recording is insightful.

3. SAVIOUR MACHINE & ALL THE MADMEN { 5 VOTES EACH }
4. OTHERS { 8 VOTES IN TOTAL }
39 VOTES WERE CAST IN TOTAL.
WELL I SUPPOSE IT'S NO SURPRISE REALLY THAT THE TITLE TRACK PISSED IT WITH WIDTH OF A CIRCLE AS RUNNER UP.I WENT FOR SAVIOUR MACHINE WHICH PUT IN QUITE A GOOD SHOWING TO BE HONEST.I DID THINK AFTER ALL MAY HAVE PERFORMED BETTER, THAT ACTUALLY CAM 4TH WITH 4 VOTES.EVEN SHE SHOOK ME COLD TOOK A VOTE BUT I'M NOT 100% SURE IT WAS GENUINE I HOPE SO.
THE ONLY SONG NOT VOTED FOR SURPRISINGLY WAS BLACK COUNTRY ROCK THO IT WAS MENTIONED BUT ONLY IN A NEGATIVE WAY.
