...all the other material that should have been out by now?
I am sure Bowie: Object was due out a couple of months ago and the site revamp should have happened by now. And what of all the re-issues that were meant to be on the way like Low and Scary Monsters?
One can appreciate hold ups and such but with Bowie it seems he just doesn't care anymore. I honetly think the Objet book won't even see the light of day now. We are nigh on 9 years since his last studio release and it's kind of a little sad that we no longer have input from Bowie via studio albums and live shows.
But why has the book and site revamp taken so long and now looking like a false dawn?
One can only hope that a new record deal next year might finally see something worhtwhile but I am starting to think it will just be another false dawn.

yes the deal has got to be signed sealed and delivered i would expect before we get wind of anything new.
wonder if bowie will go with a major label or if he will decide to go it alone?
this silence could go on for many more months.

Bowie I'd guess is not really interested in the buisiness side of things ,personally the idea of a book with pictures of things that are probably mind numbingly boring ,possibly one of Bowies whims soon shelved upon the realisation that it would probably make Tin Machine 3 seem like a great idea

A few months ago I was looking forward to this time of year with a new book, website upgrade and perhaps news of a new record deal with a proper re-issue program.
The Objects book is something I think will be interesting for more so us devoted fans. Hugh Jackman once spoke of living in the same building as Bowie and mentioned Bowie had the most amazing things scattered around his abode.
It will be a full 10 years since Heathen soon. Where has the time gone?
Let's hope 2012 gives us all something to be really excited about!

I believe it is due for publication by Penguin Books Ltd on 16th October 2012.
BOWIE OBJECTS
EAN13: 9781846144981 ISBN: 9781846144981
DAVID BOWIE
Description: The concept will be 'David Bowie in a hundred objects' - he's chosen 100 objects from his life which we will photograph and he will write a short piece of text to accompany each one. The format will be similar a royal hardback with integrated pictures and we will be producing limited editions alongside.
Date Publication: 16/10/2012 Publisher: PENGUIN BOOKS LTD Price: 22,75 Format: Hardback Dimensions: 216 x 135
This was from an official Penguin website rather than amazon etc
I'll bet it'll cost at least £350 for a limited edition one which might just contain blank pages. At that price, I'd be very wary of opening the thing, so I'd have no idea what's inside, so could well contain blank pages. Bowie would then justify it by saying it's a tribute to Warhol because 'He's fascinating. He has absolutely nothing to say, and so I stole his idea and made it into a tangible object!'. Bowie would again be hailed as a post modern genius!

Oh don't start that, I've still got a hat to eat from about 6 years ago!
