The original I remember hearing aged 2 (titter ye not), but for me, Bowie's version is better!

Can't top Pink Floyd. Bowie did a good job.

These are a great idea for series of threads.I'm unfamiliar with many of the originals of DB's covers.Kingdom Come and It Aint Easy for example ARE Bowie songs to me,as they are the only ones I know.

This one's a no brainer for me.
I want one of them t-shirts wot Johnny Rotten used to have that said I HATE PINK FLOYD.

(I gotta go have a cookie before I reply to this!!!!)

Ok got 'molassis spice and one percent'.... I adored and am in love with every
track on Pin(e) Ups. However, the running round and absolute mayhem involved
in PF's efforts proved that the dynamics that rule outside the bedroom don't
necessarily rule the roost and colour dark the domination that takes place in Nicks's
sleeping bag (or my summer hammock) .

In the end? It is a toss-off, depending on my mood of things.

I LOVE "Pin Ups" ... was just listening today ... think it's WAY underrated ... BUT See Emily Play is possibly the only song on it that does NOT improve on the original.

I love Pink Floyd but to be honest Bowie's version is a killer ,if Pink Floyd's was the Skeleton then Bowie's was the flesh and blood !

Pinups is a masterpiece and gives all the early songs a run for their money !

bowies version rocks.
the floyds is just too flimsy, too lightweight.
i like it but bowie's version is far superior.

Think they're both excellent, but I have to say, The Gentleman for the win. Bowie is Bowie, after all. (oh, by jingo.)

The original version captures the magic of the late 1960's. Bowie's version is good but it's just Ziggy Stardust doing karaoke.

Sorry Ant but its the Bowie version for me. The sixties stuff is OK but it was antique by the time of the glorious seventies. happy.gif
