In the absense of any new Bowie material I sat myself down today and listened intently to the Tonight album for the first time since 1984. Perhaps I missed something the first time around.

Unfotunately I must report that we will have to keep waiting.

When I have recovered I 'may' attempt Never Let Me Down.

I really liked Tonight last time I sat down at listened to it. I'm not alone either - it's 80s Bowie to the Nth degree and therefore OK for what it is. Let us know how you get on with NLMD as I really enjoyed that too with minimal wincing.

Blue Jean and Loving The Alien were the Tonight highlights for me.

The title track of NLMD appealed to me also.

The rest was all a bit too 80s for me.

'I'd throw it on the fire anyday'

I tried once...but, it is so bad that fire didn't want anything do do with it as either.

I think Tonight . . .

April 9 2012, 9:22 PM

is pretty good now. It sits with Let's Dance pretty well for me. If only he had moved on and not even recorded Never Let Me Down . . .
