Pin Ups does not seem to get muck of a mention on these pages yet it represents a pivotal album between
Ziggy and his future alter egos.
Bowie sonic interpretation of songs from the 60's back in 1973 surely deserves some loving. There must
be plenty of out takes that could be used beyond Growing Up which latterly was put on the Dianond Dogs
Bonus and Amsterdam.

I think he used Pins Ups to try out new vocal techniques. It's around this time his he used the deeper voice. As heard on Sorrow.

"Suspected of being a shoulder surfer
But he didn't know from shit
About challenge response systems"
That's a good point ,because Bowie's voice is really all over the place sonically speaking and before Diamond Dogs which I always thought was Bowie's first experimental vocal after Ziggy ?
I agree all Bowie's little vocal nuances are on display on Pinups ,I'd guess he always thought of Pinups as throwaway stuff and whilst possibly having fun he also felt he could afford to try different vocal techniques too ?
The chemistry between Bowie and Ronson is superlative on Pinups !
pin ups has balls it really rocks.
yeah the best of ronno and the drumming is sublime on this album.
bowie's vocals have an experimental feel about them but are amongst his best i feel.
why sorrow was chose as the lead single i'm not sure although a top 3 hit i feel theres a lot better on there which needs to be heard.
see emily play, here comes the night, friday on my mind especially are far superior.
