We scavenge up our clothes"
yeah i have vinyl, original cd, cd virgin with bonus tracks,1999 reissue, aussie blue vinyl, jap mini vinyl, pretty much all formats plus all the singles from it on 12".and the promo cd of never let me down with the 6 mixes on. i love the remixes of which there are many and all should be on a special deluxe reissue,i would be first in the queue to get that one.
why oh why was'nt beat of your drum the lead off single it could have been massive.
along with lodger and the man who sold the world bowie's most underrated album.
in more recent times i guess yes i would agree.
for a long time it was overlooked.
i still think even now it wouldnt be in everybody's top ten bowie albums.
but it's my favourite bowie album.
probably followed by lodger.
never let me down would definately also be right up there for me.
yep i know i'm sure most fans wouldnt have had that opinion when it first came out, i'm sure they would have played it too death like us.
who would have said thats crap i'm never playing that again.
maybe some listened to the critics too much.
it still gets regular hearings here.
it just takes me back and when something means something to you, you tend to hold it dear.
i never skip it dig.
i can't understand bowie's problem with this track he has done a lot worse.
and it's never the weakest song on the album, he's obviously embarrassed by the lyrics but i find it a catchy little track.
i could'nt resist another spin.
new yorks in love & 87 & cry sound fantastic & these were probably my least favourites from the album, but even they feel really good now.
del i was reading reviews on amazon and we are not alone there's quite a few 5 star reviews but yeah some poor ones too.
no other bowie album draws as many parallel opposite opinions as this album i would think, but that makes it even more special for me.
too dizzy is playing now i think its brilliant.
it contains one of my fave lines"hanging on his arm like a cheap suit" Julie is easily in my bowie top 20 tracks and girls was wasted being slapped on a b side. 87 is great drum is great, time will crawl is fantastic. the only one i find weak is zeroes.
Is it really 25 years since i first saw bowie wow, with hindsight it was the weakest db live show i ever saw(dont think i will be seeing anymore) but loved it at the time.i do remember being pissed that he did not sing time and it pissing with rain all day.
yes both girls & julie were wasted, both fantastic songs.
yes time was cancelled due to the rain was that the 20th june if i remember rightly and he also played the 19th i think which i think was a friday, it stayed dry tho that day.
i love the glass spider tour i like to watch it when i can, i played my vhs tapes to death back in 1988.
so come tuesday 19th i could be watching the man who fell to earth on the big screen maybe?? thinking back god it was 25 years to the day i was standing on the wembley pitch watching bowie live on the glass spider tour and thinking god i was only 19 where has the time gone.
