Hi, when was Bowie heaviest, or if you forgive the phrase, fattest? I am not talking about after his medical procedure, but before this, during his performing career.

I would say around 2000 and Glasto? Hadnt he given up (or tried to) smoking around then?

He seemed to have put some weight on around Serious Moonlight time but I would say that he was thinner again round Glass Spider. Didn't Bowie say NLMD was a cocaine album or am I imagining this?

Thanks for your comments, Mr. Buckley. The reason I started this thread was because there is a specific time when I think Bowie had a lot of fat. I saw some photos of Bowie around 1996, when he wore that Union Jack jacket onstage. I think he had some loose fat during those days.

If anyone could post photos during this time period, I think you'll see what I mean.

I would agree with you Sam on this remark from 96.
He certainly looked a lot fitter around 1996.
I wouldn`t say fat as much. more middle age spread. And he seemed happy with his weight too.
I`m thinking its an age thing.

Even the recent pics of him from around April this year he looked slim again. (Fit).
Obviously he`s trying to to keep the weight off.

Guess we are to used to remembering the old skeletal Bowie from the past.
I know if i visualize Bowie in my head I tend to see the skinny Bowie.
I think it`s how every one tends to see him or remember him.

Give me Bowie with a bit of meat on his bones any day.

He got pretty thin during the Glass Spider tour. I don't know if he was on drugs or not. Performing high energy shows combined with jet leg and poor eating habitats was probably was a huge factor for his weight loss.

I think he gained a bit in the mid-2000s, but that might also have been the steroids. They make you puffy.
