Iggy wins hands down.
I hate Bowie's version, It's sickly twee crap and I never want to hear it again.

Iggy's wins hands down. The Bowie version has reduced it to a chocolate box, tea towel version. Robbed it of its 'Berlin' allure . . .

Iggy by quite some distance. Although I've always quite liked Bowie's version too, and I've never really got the hate that this version seems to attract.
But Iggy's original is astonishingly good. Arguably the best thing on The Idiot, which is an astonishingly good album. And, as someone mentioned recently, it's crying out for decent remastering / reissue.

About tonight, I voted Iggy but not for china girl. Bowie version is interesting, sensual and more pop.

is magistral. Simple and flows like heroin in veins.
I've never cared for Iggy at all. Great Poet but bad musician.

Bowie's version is not bad but it's too sweetened for me... -------------

your reserve, considering the era, it was the best pop around. And to this day the song hasn't aged.

i take bowie's version over iggy's....i knew bowies first...great vocals, greay lyrics, great guitar and music....the iggy version is alot more raw...i like that but i love the bowie version...

apples and oranges innit ?
iggy's (which is also heavily bowie's) version is a dark slab of Berlin megalomania.
bowie's is an almost perfect slice of summery pop.
love both and am glad they are not the same. totally cannot understand why so many people hate it ... but maybe all the people that hate it are actually ant
Ant (Login earthling1O1O ) 86.31.118.246 Re: The Idiot No score for this post July 17 2012, 1:31 AM
LOL!

Love the Bowie version but Iggys is definitive.

The Iggy's roughness is respected with an injection of experimentalism. -------------
