So there are rumours flying around this morning that Bowie is in London rehearsing at Studio 19 in Hackney. That is all the information I have seen on this, it seems unlikely but maybe just maybe he will be doing something for Olympics?

Probably bollox but I love to get suckered into a little hope once in a while

Thanks for this. Very interesting but I personally hope he steers well clear of that corporate, bloated event. Now, if he were rehearsing/recording new material that would be something else . . .

He'd probably pick a place that is suited to rehearsing music.

It would be like Ali showing up to light the torch in Atlanta, without the tremors.

I imagine if they offered him a suitably spectacular appearance fee, he's get down the book with the lyrics to "Heroes".

"With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil, that takes religion." Steven Weinberg

Think we are all living in hope.
Until i hear and see it then i wont believe it.
He did look great in those last pics we seen from April.
Maybe he feels he can rehearse once again.
would be nice to hear something new.

Sorry, I may be wrong but I can't really see Bowie flying across the Atlantic for this. Though as a 'comeback' he couldn't ask for a bigger stage.

A more well-founded rumour is that a track or two of his could be played at the opening/closing ceremony.

I cannot see him doing a live thing and leaving his fans high and dry (without a seat at the event)?

I think it would be out of character....

Is this for real - just came across it;

'The ladies will strut their stuff in British designs as David Bowie performs his aptly-titled hits Fashion and Rebel Rebel'

I doubt its true. if it was it would be MAJOR news. Why would he bother with London anyway? For last 20 years Bowie has been a New Yorker not Londoner.

Bowie is NOT going to be at the Olympics

http://www.newstrackindia.com/newsdetails/2012/07/15/194-London-2012-closing-ceremony-set-to-be-musical-extravaganza.html

"A tribute to British fashion will see supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Lily Cole and Georgia Jagger strut down a catwalk to the David Bowie songs 'Fashion' and 'Rebel Rebel,' although the singer himself will not be there."

Sounds like its going to be a really lame "extravaganza"

Could have nothing to do with anything.

Like as not.

Although I doubt its gonna happen, I don't doubt he's been approached.

We don't have many rock stars of his stature world wide. Well, not many below the age of 50 anyway.

I'd imagine he turned them down politely.

But I'm not a snob. I'd be blown away if he did do it.

I might even have a bit of a sniffle like I did when Floyd reformed at Live 8 and when Ali lit the torch in LA in 96.
