Really difficult question.......
Howsabout:
Everyone Says Hi - A wonderful and hugely underrated song.
Rebel Rebel - A song that has got better and better with age.
Memory of a Free Festival - A lovely early track with a great singalong at the end.

As His voice might be a little rusty,I'd go for the more talky type numbers.
Laughing Gnome.
Future Legend.
Five Years (though does get rather singy towards the end).

Lady Grinning Soul - simply because it's one of the most beautiful songs he has ever recorded but yet never sang live
We are the Dead - again because DD is probably my fave album and I would love to hear this live
Win - it's so sexy and I love the whole Young American thing he had going on then
there's loads others but these prob represent what I have been listening to recently.

noel has the right idea (though lady grinning soul has never been a persoanl favourite)
we are the dead
five years
how about some outside...the motel
he'd still nail them and probably in new interesting ways.
as for the reason...they're all great songs and suit his voice. ----------------------------

1) Space oddity : as it introduces Major Tom.
2) Moonage daydream : as its such a fantastic song to sing along to.
3) Ashes to ashes : A goodbye to Major Tom. A nice way to end things on stage.
an end all things Bowie.
His way of saying goodbye to his fans for the last time. (Final Retirement).
Noel (Login 2HB ) BW Member 94.13.181.77 If I could have a 4th song August 26 2012, 9:37 PM
it would be rock'n'roll suicidde David Live version as I know it's probably the last time I will hear him sing.
I hope deep in my heart he will sing live again but there's a big part of me telling me to get over it, sadly.
Lee (Login lestwh ) BW Member 86.173.170.56 Re: If I could have a 4th song August 26 2012, 9:49 PM
He ought to sing acoustic songs on webcam and upload them to the new look Bowienet.
Might even be worth joining for that.
del (Login whizzkidworld ) BW Member 50.92.155.87 Re: If I could have a 4th song August 26 2012, 9:53 PM
1,R&R suicide
2,Alabama song (never seen it live, love it and i know lots of people hate it)
3,Teenage Wildlife (because its his finest moment live or otherwise imo)
tintoy (Login tintoy ) BW Member 92.236.118.116 my 3 would be . . . August 26 2012, 10:51 PM
"Heroes" - Never tire of it, soaring, uplifting and magnificent.
Slow Burn - Underrated, haunting and melancholic.
Baal's Hymn - Dark and brooding with a shot of black humour.
But this may change tomorrow . . .

Thylacine (Login Thylacine8 ) BW Member 75.94.7.130 Great choices Popp! August 27 2012, 8:58 AM
Conversation Piece and Slow Burn would definitely be on my list, but for a third?... Maybe something poppy, like Scary Monsters or Blue Jean. Or maybe something he could present as a "better version of" like Glass Spider reworked.
lee (Login sylvianne ) BW Member 82.2.194.160 Re: Great choices Popp! August 27 2012, 10:36 AM
i could probably make a whole set list of songs he's never performed live.
the dream would be the whole of the man who sold the world and lodger albums back to back.
noels choices are pretty hard to beat to be fair but if i was going for an alernative top 3 to that it may well be:
saviour machine
after all
move on.
i do quite fancy hearing when the wind blows blow and the buddha of suburbia as well.
like i said i could do a whole set list with ease.

1. The Secret Life Of Arabia 2. Kooks 3. Teenage Wildlife
Because I'd love to see David's new style and vocal performance of these songs would be like now. Actually, I'd love to hear the whole "Heroes", Scary Monsters, and Hunky Dory album's given the TOY treatment and re-recorded using Gail Ann Dorsey, Mark Plati, Sterling Campbell, Holly Palmer and bringing back KrisTeen Young and Carlos Alomar, with Tony Visconti producing. .... and of course, so Claude can have fun finding YouTube video's for them!

Think my No 3 choice would be ...The Man Who Sold The World....or wouldn't mind BB again!
Heard Bewlay Brothers at Hammersmith...A M A Z I N G! Beautiful, haunting in a way.

I would choose Scary Monsters as it has a rock sound to it and songs like that sound really good live. I would choose Five years as it has always been a favorite of mine and David Bowie really puts emotion into it. I have a David Bowie live DVD and this song is on there. I would also choose Under pressure as I think it would just really sound good live.
David I read that you like Every One Says Hi. I really like that song too.

Totally impossible, of course, to pick three dozen, let alone three!
Anyhow, for today I'd go with three that as far I know have never been performed live:
Moss Garden.
Lady Grinning Soul.
Bleed Like a Craze, Dad.

the width of a circle
wild eyed boy from freecloud
edit: ah, the "paradox of choice". on second thought, i'd probably replace one of those with 'try some, buy some'.
