Can't stop watching/listening to this. Just imagine what the tour could have been like for this period (BTWN, BoS, All the movie songs etc). Stunning live version of one of my fave Bowie songs and albums.

The song works better live than in the studio

when the wind blows could have been amazing live. I always hoped he would do it around 1999/2000 tours.

yea - on the album, the song just sounds so... "cluttered"

like there are parts where there's simply too many samples going on at the same time, and the timing on the vocals doesn't quite work

but it definitely sounds much better live

I also quite like the "Extended" mix of the song (it's not just a longer version of the album mix) - I just wish there was a short version of the Extended Mix

Embarrassing , reminds me of Ebony and Ivory, his worst moment, well sung by Bowie though , who the hell was Al B Sure?

I think the single mix is the superior edit. Sounds less messy to me than the album track.

I love the video as well. Those colours.

yea... I wonder how/ why he got of "Al B Sure!" because I certainly never heard of him before (or since!)

I also agree - the lyrics, or at least portions of the lyrics are cringeworthy and very much like "ebony & ivory"
...I've always meant to do an edit of the "Extended Mix" which removes the "we hold each other's hands" bit (and maybe also the call back to Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?")

BUT - the video is great. It's the only time where I've thought that the video itself was better than the song. Like, you could take a still from almost any scene, and it'd be a proper photographic piece of art.

I very much think Bowie is being ironic in the lyrics. If you read the lyrics he is saying how complicated the issue is.

A spirit message just occurred to me to research AL B Sure.
I'll report tomorrow on the goings-on of the fellow. In honesty
I hope he's flush and well.

Exactly halfway through I realised there was a mirror, not another 10 musicians.
