Breaking news.

Big FM is pleased to announce that our broadcast this Thursday will originate from the Portage arena parking lot. We have listened to the opinions of our Selkirk listeners and don't want to subject them to the noise level in the Portage Arena on Thursday. In order to bring you the play by play, we will be setting up a camera in the arena and providing the video feed to our vehicle. We hope you enjoy this unique broadcast approach and it should simulate the sounds you are used to hearing in the Selkirk rink.

heard the Selkirk Rec staff had to use one of those steamers they are using to clear culverts to clean Letkemans stall after last nights game.

Michaud asked him to go twice and the beeyatch pi$$ed himself. Seen him going to the dressing room and he was soaked with pi$$ right down to his fu cking ankles.

Funny how times have changed. The dogs used to have players that talked and played tough, now they just have fans with big mouths. Tsk Tsk

Letkemann is more important to us on the ice then he is in the penalty box.

You just keep wasting a line-up spot for Michaud the monkey to sit on the bench.

Real effective playoff coaching Cassidy.

To 71.57

April 2 2009, 10:27 AM

You arent one of the players, so why are you running your mouth about players like you are actually down on the ice ?? You are a parent of a Steeler, or you are just a fan, either of which shouldnt be talking about players like you do (as 71.57 or 189.2{work}). Its almost, I dont know exactly how to say it, like you are obsessed with the whole bodily functions thing. Creepy and crude...

As a Steeler fan I hate the fact that the rec centre has banned air horns. I love a noisy building, especially in the playoffs. When the Steelers had their playoff run 2 years ago, the atmosphere was electric.I say bring back the air horns.

Horns are a part of hockey! I go to youth hockey games and there are air horns there and the kids are the ones that are using them. Playoff hockey for sure should be an exception to the ban rule. I am a Selkirk fan and miss the noise that the horns brought to the rink.

the thing with the horns is some nob sets it off into the persons infront of them. puts a bad face on everyone that has them. point them upwards and let them howl. they bring something to the game.

Yeah, like the one they used from the press box in Selkirk. That was good. This from a Terrier fan.

Winnipeg minor hockey forced the rule change for all the rinks they play out of. Lord Selkirk is part of Winnipeg minor so the change was brought in. I prefer horns to jugs of pennies.

When the Anavet series is back in Selkirk the City should be asked to lift the ban on a temporary basis.

As for the noise in Portage it doesn't pump up the home team any more than the visitors. A Larson hit and a Pleskach goal would quiet the rink down a tad.

Maybe so, but nothing works better than four unanswered goals, and dominating play for the last two periods to get the crowd rocking.

I listened to the game on CFRY and couldn't even tell there were people in the rink until someone scored. Oh and for everyone that says Ray's a homer on Big FM, your Portage announcers aren't any different. The so called color commentary guy is brutal, not even sure why he's there.

horns

i wonder if they will lift the horn ban when the telus cup. cause it they don't i cant see winnipeg getting it every again. cause it is being held in selkirk. so if they were smart they would. cause pennies in a jug are freaking annoying to listen to speciality when they don't know when to shake the jug or quit shaking them.
