This Neanderthal never treated his players(or parents and fans for that matter) with any respect.

Everyone was beneath him...his "I went to Notre Dame!..I was a tough-guy!..I played in the dub!..I don't have to explain anything to anybody!" crap finally got him canned.

I am appalled at the attitude of some of the hockey players or people that send messages degrading someones name. I agree that Bateman should have been let go but for whatever reasons is not for us to guess. Consider the fact that he took the time and cared enough to be a coach which many of us don't want to do for fear of being ridiculed and having too many losses or for whatever. And for you people that send messages of this sort I would like to say that maybe you should grow up or put your money where your mouth is.
life is too short for these kind of comments and hockey is a great sport but is being ruined for all of us by people that are jealous.

that he kinda turned your team around last year somewhat didn't he? Weren't the Natives 0-12 or something to start?? Maybe he deserves better credit than he is getting on here?

From what I have heard, he was not a very good coach, but you have to recognize that he did a good job as GM in bringing in players. He took a crappy team and made them competitive with player moves.
