There is no Div II Hockey. There is only Div.I and III. Not sure where you got your info but your wrong. Just go to NCAA site and see for yourself.

and you will see there is indeed D 2 hockey. Go to rankings. At the bottom there is a Krach ranking of all D 11 and D 111 teams. While they do not differentiate in the rankings about 7 of those teams are D 11 teams from the ECAC and the NESAC.

There are indeed D 11 teams. They play against D 111 teams but have their own championship called I think the North East 10. Some schools go D 11 because it allows them to field one D 1 team, usually basketball or football while all of the rest have to be D 11 sports.

For 100% sure there are D 2 hockey teams and they are at some pretty good colleges. As a matter of fact I think Crookston was a D 2 school but recently folded. All other D 2 are out east.
