Officiating issue

The problem is that all the MJ referees are instructed to call the games to the letter of the law no matter if its a game 7 overtime or whatever. The league and the head of officiating really need to rethink this strategy if they want to improve the quality of play in the MJ. So in any case don't blame Leoppky, because he's just doing what he's told.

In my opinion, officials needs to use a little discretion sometimes and let the teams decide the game.

oh yeah?

then why is there such a huge difference between Loeppky and Joyes?

doesn't matter what they are told, at some point the ref has to make a split second decision. Some refs just have a built in instinct to know how to call a good game and they eventually rise to the top, Loepkky isn't one of them

Think about it. Garth is working game seven of the Anavet and Joyce didn't get any games. Who is at the top??????

Joyes is not a Level 6 official - that precludes him from doing inter provincial games. That leaves you with Loeppky, MacDonald, Heather and Galley - the Level Six crew.

Despite not having the distinction of being a Level Six - Joyes is by far the best official working in the MJHL.

seen the video. I see nothing wrong with the call. More did a dumb thing at a bad time and any blame Terrier fans put on Loepkey is wrongly aimed. Point the finger where it belongs....squarely on the shoulders of the league's dirtiest player, Cory 'No' More.....

ok, you have just made a comment that the MJ does have other level 6 refs. Where were they? How did Loepky get 2 games? How do they decide who gets the games and how many? It is a well known fact that loepky does NOT like Portage. There is a well documented love/hate relationship there with him. Yeah Cory collided with the humboldt player, was it intentional??? Some would say yes, some would say no. Why would More purposly go out and cause a 5 min major for his team to lose. Everyone of those portage players wanted to win! Cory More is a terrier and will always be a terrier. If you want to hate him, then it just shows your jealousy. The terriers had an amazing year. They won back to back MJ championship. The organization has never done that in their history. The last team to do that was the OCN Blizzard. So if you want to go on and on about the negative well obvious people lead sad pathetic lives. Those players played with their heart and soul and gave it 100%. Terrier fans are proud of their players. Win or lose.

No one is saying it was intentional, Regardless an injury resulted from said same collision. Thus requiring mandatory 5 min major. CTV video says it all.

More payed a terrible price[on behalf of his teamates]for trying just one more, over zealous hit.His reputation precedes him as he has 'injured'several players this year and will have to learn to control himself or unfortunately revenge will be exacted some cold dark nite in somebodys rink when he least expects it.Port. had the game won,in the bag, goin' to the big show..I"m sure Humboldt must have been totally motivated by what they saw and did what they did.Did Spilly ever caution More,we"ll never know.Anybody who has been around hockey a long time knows that the call was correct as per the rules, ref had no choice WHERE AS MORE DID!!

Ok Portage, quit blaming the ref for making a bad call. He made the right call, the evidence is there. You guys choked, plain and simple. Instead of trying t blame Leoppky, blame More for being a meathead while his team was up 3 goals and had tickets to Victoria. I know More will be the one dressed like a female Muslim at Terriers awards banquet!! LMAO
