| Wow is this a coincidence that these 2 put in there resignations within 48 hours of each other. Stokes apparently quit for medical reasons.

If your referring to Cassidy and Stokes - the story goes that Cassidy tried to notify Selkirk early last week. With the GM too tied up with day to day REAL work (Canada Post) and leaving the country for the weekend, he had to settle for telling the Governor he was leaving.
Since when do coaches negotiate or notify the Governor rather than the GM?
As far as Stokes leaving the Saints - where and when did this come about? I haven't seen a report anywhere!!!!
If any of this is true, good on ol' Kimmy to stay on top of this sh!t and keep the MJ website current. Fcuk how hard is it for the league to keep everyone up to date?

Stokes leaving is just part of his rotation....coach, leave come back to a new team.....coach leave comeback....coach a former team.....never coaches without owners money or city boys, or University students.. |

Ryan Smith to the Saints - take it to the bank! Great young coach with tremendous hockey experience - got SHAFTED by the Blues and Cockmeister.
Expect Cassody back at the U of M with Sirant. He was there the season before MIke left - he'll be back bieng a schlep for Sirant again this season. |

New coaches of the Saints are Cassidy as Head and Williamson from The Charleswood Hawks. Stokes was canned because of his son, no coaching experience and he changes the lines??. They warned him but, he would not listen. They annouced it as a resignation but, it was a firing. |

makes sense. his boy coached north winnipeg to a jungle b title over the selkirk fish in 2006, with help from dad.
... that was the year the NW captain tried to decapitate the fish goalie after an overtime loss in the finals knocking him out of the series with a concussion. father and son spilled onto the ice throwing punches. classy. |

The part about the North Wpg captain nailing the goalie is true, but neither of the Stokes were throwing punches. No coaches from either team did.

I was there too. Horrific stuff ... and why Doug came out of the cheap seats to go down on the ice and 'break it up' is something that should have been addressed by Hockey MB. |

Doug is a classy guy who has devoted his hockey life to the MJ and he does not deserve the shyt that is on this forum. Grow up and let him retire with his dignity. |

Doug Stokes hasn't coached anyone in years. so don't gut yourself tied in nots when someone gives him the grabage he's earned. should have retired about 15 years ago |

OK by me. The **** on this post is airborn and comes back on the ignorant who end up wearing it. One of the few guys in hockey who has the guts to see for himself and not what he is told to see. Nothing left on the Saints anyway after the only recent 2 gret years they had with him at the helm. |

Does not say much for his character if he lies to Selkirk claiming he is taking time to focus on his personal life and then takes the Saints job.
Should have just been a man about it and told them he was looking for somthing better.......
