| Well, I must say that Moose TV in actuality, is as brutal as it sounds. Since when did Andrew "Hustler" Patterson become the end all be all in Sports in Winnipeg? Gary Lawless is as fat as can be - and should NEVER appear on television! Then the Moose go out and get the VERY WASHED UP Morley Scott to do the play by play. Guy couldn't keep up at the Telus Cup or in Edmonton doing Oilers games, but he must have begged for the gig!
Guess what Moose, you have the greatest play-by-play voice in hockey living back in Winnipeg selling real estate ... Curt would have been such a better choice, and he's LOCAL (no airfare or hotel room to cover).
NHL coverage was a total coin flip - I'll take NBC with all the TSN cast aways over the people's network. Bob Cole is done I guess, they really have a boring group at the CBC. Here's the list of names, see if you don't agree:
- Jim Hughson
- Craig Simpson
- Elliotte Friedman
- Scott Oake
- PJ Stock
- Ron McLean
- Don Cherry
I'll take Mike Emerick, Eddie Olczeck, Pierre Mcguire, Darren Pang, Mike Milbury and Bill Clement anyday on NBC over the dinosaur snorefest that is HNIC on CBC! |

nothing wrong with HNIC, at least they know the game, you should hear the American play by opay announce a game, they don't know their A$$ from a hole in the ground.. Show some Canadian BALLS. |

HNIC has become a snoozefest (except for coaches corner) ... but if I hear TSN's Pierre McGuire yell out "body position" one more time I'm gonna snap. |

is OK, but does not compare. They try to share the roles and info amongst too many guys so that you never get the full shot. Everybody is holding back so they can let PJ in on something they have already talked about. Looks loke amateur hour to me. They have way too many guys talking about way too little. Cherry is a phenom and MacLean and Oak are seasoned commentators.
The other show is OK if you need to see a game. At times it is polished but way too American. They just don't know our game and they just don't know how to comment about it. If you want football style coverage and commentary and you don't know the difference watch away. To me it is a further example of how our game got sold down the river and what has become of it since. NBC coverage is just a part of what is happening out there and it is all bad. Bring back our teams and our coverage. It is a Canadian game and we know how best to comment on it. | |
