Exactly, if you invested 30 years of your life in an organization wouldn't you want to see the fruits of your labor in the club's biggest season, including a national stage.

Mabye its just a case where he sees a train wreck coming, cant do anything to prevent it, and will just be a casuality if he doesnt bail now (similar to Cassidy in Selkirk ?). Wouldnt suprise me that hes back after all this seasons hoo-haw blows over and helps pick up the pieces, his reputation intact.
