| wow.. swan sure played quite a few vets to the bombers ZERO ... hope they're happy with this win cause if u can only beat an all rookie team (with more than half of them not going to actually make the team) 6-3, ur in trouble! |

Two tilts....Wilson and Peel both over quickly.......no damage done either way.Stevens,Reimer,Shemyko[sp?],Harrison and Landry[up from defence]looked good up front. On D ,Wilson and Valley looked good together as did Mitchell and Trowel but young Butler paired with Sraker looked a little lost at times.Ward was steady but let in one cheap one!!!!!!!!1 |

take into consideration that the Stamps very much controlled the game from start to finish. Maybe didn't blow them away with a lack of finish but we knew they're gonna' have trouble at time putting the puck in the net. I for one, thought there were alot of positives in tonight's win. If you're not satisfied with a win, please - stay home next time. |

I thought the Stamps played well, they moved the puck around on the powerplay and had Flin Flon on thier heels for most of the game. If not for the second goalie score could have easily been 10-2. Now I realize that there were no vets on the Flin Flon team but they were still be pretty decent and worked hard. I see progress with the Stamps and the desire to win, some of the 17 year olds look like they want to play Junior this year. Swan will better then I thought I see them as a possible playoff contender were a month ago I didn't. If they get Ferland and Bonar back they will only get better. With how hard the young guys worked maybe it would be a good idea to trade Stevens, Sellinger, Ward and Riddel for some young solid 91's in the next couple months. |

What are you wanting? Swan hit the ice 2 weeks ago. Wayway and Flin Flon just finished their camps and were playing their first exhibition games. Is Swan supposed to keep 40 guys around so we can have a fair midget game for you to bitch about.
Bottom line, Stamps look to be improved and that is a good thing. May not win a league title but will be more competitive and for that we, as fans, should be happy.
If you want to cheer for a winner, move away. Swan River isn't a large enough centre to compete with the 'big boys' so to speak. No different than any other league. Deeper wallets means more options and easier recruiting. I for one, am happy to have junior hockey to cheer for.
Go Stamps. |

Well put...
Some of these guys are hilarious, carving up the Stamps for "beating" a rookie lineup. Last time I checked you can't control who the other team ices.
I'd be a lot more concerned if we were losing to "rookie" teams.
Once a griper, always a griper. Complaining at this time of year is commonplace for lifelong quitters and losers. Keep jumping off the ship and you will never have to face or overcome adversity. Hopefully the lack of character doesn't rub off on this year's club. |

agreed..they were good posts ... and no .236 noones suggesting to keep guys around to have a fair game..if u actually read the posts, they state that swan is in deep water if they cannot beat an all rookie team that just came out of camp the day before the game..
now im not trying to put down your team or anything, im just saying every team has ups and downs and maybe this year isnt going to turn out the greatest for the stamps...but u never no, they may actually turn things around and do very well, im just trying to raise a valid point here and talking hockey, which is what this forum is for |
