| Let me start by saying I used to be what I thought was an intelligent poster. Maybe I wasn't...you decide, I don't care.
I was just watching Shaw TV and I know the Showcase weekend is on. Good idea...make it work. Lots of ideas to make it better, (like update the site) but easier said than done.
Then I see the media challenge. Shaw TV/Citi fm/CKY.
Ok. I see where you are coming from. Need exposure in the city. I get it. But despite inviting those people, nothing on Citi today at all, a blurb on CKY and a piece on Shaw.
The guys that REALLY cover your league, Winkler, Dauhpin, Steinbach, Ocn, Portage etc....not even an invite. Looked like fun and I guarantee all those stations gave you big coverage today.
Look after your own first and then bring in the big wigs from Winnipeg. A message right to the head office, who has no email on the MJHL site. I would've emailed it directly to them but I couldn't find the email. I could be dumb and it might be right there but the seafood couldn't see it.
By the way, in Seafood fashion. Dauphin...impressive start. Swan...wow, never expected it. Neepawa coach loves himself but results are ok. Portage, after overachieving...now underachieving. OCN...jury is out. Blues....D-mac will help. No surprise to see Hewitt start with a hitting from behind. Franco soft but great talent. Saints proving Cassidy has talent but Addy is up for grabs. Winky...step up, time for a bigger year. Selkirk may be low in the standings but look at the record....anyone's game in the Addy. Parity is the name of the game this year. Best moves between now and trade deadline could decide the league. Best of luck all teams. |

Good post Seafood. You made some valid points. The people who actually cover the league are the local non city radio stations and papers. Those outlets actually have an interest in the league and are not there just for a photo shoot. Yes it's nice they got some of the big wigs from the city media to show up but it is the smaller guys who cover the league on a regular basis.
I was checking the on-line scoring yesterday and some of the games are just about over before any kind of scores show up. That alone is sad as this weekend is call the SHOWCASE and if the MJHL can't get their schitt together what does that show the other leagues, fans and scouts what the MJHL is all about. Once again Kim drops the ball but that seems to be done on a regular basis.
I did look on the league web site and at the bottom of the page in the black area if you click on contact Kims e-mail is there. | |
