Should change the route this years team will take. I'm guessing had they got it they would've unloaded some 20's to focus on next year. They are already set to be a strong club next season. Now the focus will change and be just as much on this season as next. My guess is that Blake was waiting to see if they got it before making any major moves and now we may see a couple.

It is too bad but with Dauphin hosting this season and Camrose with an equally strong bid, I'm not the least bit surprised. A team like Camrose with a great history and arena had to apply three times before getting it. Dauphin has the benefit of the league not hosting for 17 years. I'm guessing the Terriers will apply a couple of more times before getting it and 2014 or 2015 seems like a good bet to get it done. It will probably have to go east in 2012, west in 2013
and then open after that.

One question and I've heard both answers and both with examples that show they could be correct. Dauphin wins their way. Does the MJ or Anavet runner up get the spot. I believe it is the Anavet runner up but have heard it is the host league. This would certainly make things interesting in the Addy should Dauphin keep it up. Or for the SJ if it looks like Dauphin will keep steam rolling the league. If it is the SJ winner that gets the spot, the Anavet might as well be cancelled if Dauphin wins the league cause it will be a seven game series that means nothing. On the flip side, the MJ final would be less exciting if Dauphin was in it as both teams would have a spot there.

if dauphin wins the anavet cup they go into the tournament as (west) and then the team who lost in the MJ finals then goes in as the (HOST)

Actually

Actually the way it works is Dauphin will hold there host spot, reason is the schedule is made with Dauphin in as the host (nite games), Makes no sense that Dauphins games get moved around. All about attendance. If Dauphin is in the Anavet Cup the SJ goes in as West

Think about it! If Dauphin wins the MJ and the Anavet, Dauphin(MJ) is both the host team and the west team. The SJ gets to suck on it, 2 MJ teams will be in the RBC.

how many times does it have to be explained to you morons. The only way there will be two MJ teams in the RBC is if somebody beats Dauphin in Manitoba and then go on to win the Anavet cup. If Dauphin wins the MJHL and then loses the Anavet the SJHL champ goes. Dauphin is there win or lose as host.

Exactly

If the Kings get to the Anavet and win it, the Anavet runner-up (SJ champ) still goes on the the RBC since the Kings are the host. Why would you think an MJ team that didnt even win their league would get to the RBC over the Anavet runner-up ??

So if Dauphin is in the Anavet then, the best of 7 is meaningless and means squat? I'm not saying the MJ gets that spot, but it certainly makes trekking across the prairies to play up to 7 worthless games against a team you'll be playing again in a week seem stupid.

So if Dauphin makes it to the Anavet Cup, then the SJHL team has a free trip to the RBC. They could rest their regulars, take it easy and be wary of injuries, knowing that the RBC is just a week or so away. Fans loose out here. Why play hard if you know that you are in the RBC anyway?

Because it's called pride, you want to win. The bottom line is if Dauphins wins the MJ this year, then the Sask rep is automatically going

Money

It costs lots of cash for a team to continue to play at that part of the season. You need some gates to pay of all the things.

So what your saying then is MJ teams should be getting rid of their 20 year olds this year and start building for next year. I'm a Blizz fan and feel confident the blizz will do well but, I'm also realistic in believing OCN has about a 5% chance of coming out of the Sherwood and we're only 17 games in.

ocn won't have a team next year if macmillian is still on the bench, in fact ocn will be lucky to have the players to finish this year, four players already walked and more will do the same.

For the last time....

October 22 2009, 11:49 AM

If Dauphin runs the table, the host province commisioner decides who plays as the second team. The anavet loser will not automatically be in.

NO

October 23 2009, 9:43 AM

What I am saying is that other teams in the league should find good players that are going to compete with Dauphin. They are not running away with the league, They are not dominating teams like OCN did for years and kicking teams 10-1.
