Great fight tonight, but no winner. McKinnis early and Michaud came back and landed some really good shots. Did not know luke could handle a heavyweight because he usually goes after young smaller ones, but he did well.

Was definitely a draw.

Haven't seen a tilt like that in a while. Both landed some solid bombs. Should be good tonight in Selkirk.

Was a waste of time. I like hockey fights but that one woudln't even make an honourable mention list. It was boring. No winner and didn't even entertain the fans.

Sounds like you weren't even at the game if you thought it wasn't entertaining. Guess thats why all the fans were cheering, etc as they both stood right in there until they both ran out of steam and I really don't think there was a winner.

Best fight in a long time. But to say their was no winner is wrong. In hind site, you have to give the win to Luke cuz it was his team that used the momentum from the fight to win. Before the fight it was all Selkirk, but shortly after the fight the Dogs used the momentum to score two quick goals. They never looked back after that. Once again an amazing fight by the leagues two premier heavys.

here we go again............

Portage never loses a fight. In hindsight.....blah blah blah. Give it a rest, Mich beat him.

The main reason for a planned fight between two heavys is to set the tempo and gain some momentum for you team. Although their was no clear winner in the fight itself, Portage had all the momentum from that point on, and it was obvious to anybody there. From that point of view you have to give the win to Luke. Easy enough to understand I think.

The only reasons for planned fights between heavyweights is fan entertainment, bragging rights and some very minor level of intimidation. The fights to change momentum are not planned by the two fighters.

If a middleweight stands in and gets punched out by a heavyweight but gives his team the momentum shift he was looking for, good for him it was effective, but it doesn't change a draw or loss to a win in the fight itself.

I didn't see the fight or the game. I do not agree with the logic of we won the game therefore we won the fight.

Great tilt by two good fighters...but sorry no clear winner here.

I would give a hometown decision to Luke only because his team used the momentium gained in that fight to take back control of the game.

Michaud looked not bad playing a regular shift...good to see paying his dues has paid off.

Hope round two is good tonight!

You can't give a decision on the fight based on which team gained momentum!

Are you joking?????

If it was a tie, then it was a tie, Period!

So you're saying if Michaud kicked the crap out of someone, but the other team gained momentum from it...that Michaud lost the fight????

The "team" may have lost the OUTCOME of the fight, but Michaud certainly did not!
