Please confirm if this is a rumor or fact... If true, I don't like the deal for the Stampeders.

According to the MJHL site Vestby has traded Clint Pirio today as well. Any of the team toughness is gone. It will continue to be a long year in the Valley.

Ha Ha! The Stampeders make another terrible deal with sending Clint Pirio in exchange for Brett Charette. I have seen Charette play and he is awful. Good scouting Vestby!!!! Must have been another google search. It's going to be a very long season in the valley.

Steiner's stall confirms Enns to Dauphin for Smart....plus the Charette deal. Maybe Swan has deal brewing for a tough guy. Any futures still on table unfulfilled that would see someone coming to Swan?

Pireo played a roll while he was a Stampeder. Up and down the wall, chipping pucks, making hits, and dropping the gloves. Charette is not the answer, there is a reason Steinbach traded him. He put up numbers in Midget because his dad worked in the time box. Vestby is just spinning in circles, has no idea what he is doing. Listen to his interview with Craig Stein (Steiner's Stall) sounds like a complete idiot. "You know whattaa".... Worst GM in Canada.

After Swan drops another game last night, I wonder who will get traded today??? Vestby is likely working 'Google' pretty hard right now.

Re: Enns Trade

It would appear that the play-offs are out of the question,so Vestby is doing damage control.Once again Swan, trying to do the right thing, allows a young player to go out west for a next level try-out and he [Argue] gets hurt and is lost to the team for a long stretch and we pay an awfull price.Last year it was Marshall, who came back and was useless the rest of the season. If indeed the season is a write-off,then moving some 20's is not a bad strategy. The Enns trade got us a 19 and a centre-man but we lost a hitter and some toughness.Pirio deal for Charette shows promise and gets both players a little closer to home.As deadlines approach,Reimer and Taylor, as 20's might be getting nervous also.Partridge and Nobili will likely stay.Cmon out and support our Stamps, they need it,verbally and monetarily.

You want support for the Stampeders, then get rid of Guy Vestby
Life sucking cancerous leach
the man uses anyone and everyone he can to simply get whatever small recognition he can to justify his pathetic existance
I just wonder where this franchise would be if he had kept his big nose out of the hockey business.
With him involved the Stampeders have become the Southeast Blades.

You certainly are entitled to your anonoymous opinion on this forum, but dude your're awfull harsh.Guy cetainly regrets a few decisions he has made and lots of locals disagree with him about stuff but he has been around hockey for over 30 years as a player[Dauphin kings],coach and GM. One of the biggest problems is the restrictive budget which allows not a whole lot for trades and transfers.

"Dude" can you pass me a tissue so I can dab the tears from my eyes
That limited budget BS did not stop Vestby from trashing and train wrecking everyone else who had the job before him.
Just another Guy excuse, and the limited budget does not seem to have an impact on the amount he travels, just his results.
He was never qualified, capable or competent to do the job and the results reflect that. Only person that thought otherwise was Guy and unfortunately for the Stampeders he was able to convince the other dunderheads.

I agree, why does swan rarely have a solid team? They rebuild for 7 years, have a sub par year or two and then rebuild again

draft picks

November 24 2011, 2:10 PM

because after the draft kids he picks , he usually trades them all away before they get a chance to play there. i remember a few years ago i watched there prospects at the spring camp. there was some great, skilled and fast talent there, still playing midget, and what happened, vestby traded them away and got nothing in return. didnt even give them a chance. he doesnt know what the word re build means.

I don'nt agree with your hockey analogies but everyone's entitled to their opinions. Its been stated on here many times before that if a group is really serious about effecting some changes in the management of a hockey team, become a board memeber, place concerns on the agenda and vote on them.
