... That Pun is an evil bastard for having a single non-paintball personal project, that he's been spending some of his own time and money on?
So, what? Pun's supposed to not have ANY non-shop activities? I don't know about him, but I did the dusk-to-dawn, nothing-but-customer-work-months-on-end thing myself, and it burned me out.
You guys might get to quit work and go home at 5:00. Some of us don't have that luxury.
In any case, I'd like to bring your attention to two little things you conveniently overlooked:
One, by your own cite, Pun's been working on that project for two and a half years. Yes, it looks like some money was involved- though I'll eat a cinderblock if it's much more than a fraction of the amount you guys are crowing about, since I see lots of used parts and eBay specials there, rather than brand-new. But still, a good chunk of change over 2-1/2 years is a monthly trickle.
And two, while I admit I skimmed parts of the post, I note that at no time did Pun offer parts or services. Consistent with a hobby activity, I didn't see any offers of custom shift knobs, or suspension-installation services, or throttle-body boring. No business.
Here's a news flash for you: Some of us have hobbies that have nothing to do with paintball. Me, I now have just over ten thousand dollars in photography gear; lenses, bodies, filters, flashes, bags and pods. What do I do with it? Not much. Snap a few pictures, post some of them here. I've printed maybe... three. A couple we blew up to poster size. That's about it.
It's a hobby. As in a distraction from the daily grind.
Yes, Pun still owes some projects or just some refunds. So do I. But sometimes we need to shut off the lights and close the door and go do something else for a while. Me, I do a little cartooning, maybe snap some pretty pictures once in a while. Pun, he tinkers on a cheap car. He tinkers on a cheap Neon for the same reason some guys buy a cheap $50 Spyder just so they can try their hand "customizing" it with a Dremel and a drill press. If it works, great- if not, no big loss.
I will tell you this, though: Chasing him to a new board and bugging him there, too, is NOT the way to get his attention or get your project done sooner.
