He needs to be kickstarted.
All the curious, the nuthuggers and fanboys who have nothing invested need to back off. Lee needs a shake up. Having refuge with friends allowed him to live online while not meeting his online obligations. He needs the wake-up call so that he will snap out of it and set some goals. He needs to stop feeling sorry for himself and sometimes anger can do that.
I see no monkies on this trip. It IS for his own good in the long run.
