You guys want to torture a human being for the death of an animal? I love cats too but that is ridiculous.
The man obviously has other problems, such as drugs and theft. In addition, the safety of the pregnant girlfriend and her child is more important than what kind of punishment the man deserves. With that said, I say he deserves jail time and some serious therapy.
