Yeah gut reaction is to come up with the most heinous way to teach him a lesson and remove him from the planet.....That makes the rest of us only slightly better than him. Really what should be done is to take steps to keep him from further harm. First he is sterilized and sent to prison for no less than 5 years. This should be enough time for the prison population to properly "rehabilitate" him. Second is all traces of him and his family's influence should be removed from the life of his child. When he killed the cat, he essentially "killed" his child, for if it had been his child rather than the cat the child would have also died. Were I his mother, I would firmly implant that notion in the child's head, so they won't have anything to do with him either.
