Like yours, this one started from a stone-stock parked GI .45 1911A1. Everything you can see that's different from the base pistol, apart from the plating, is mine. The beavertail, mainspring and controls are stainless, as are the magazines, and they've a virtually perfect match for the matte hard chrome.
The controls are heavily reworked King's, and the safety is ambidextrous. And before anyone pipes up and tells me there's anything wrong with my controls- they'll snag, you'll accidentally ride the slide lock, I don't need a lefthand safety, etc.- kindly go jam it in your ear. USE some properly installed controls before you go repeating internet rumors about how awful and dangerous they are.
I didn't put 'em on just because I thought they looked cool.
The Carbon grip panels, though, are admittedly too slick. They look awesome, and they're fine for my big mitts when it's dry, but I'll probably switch to the checked carbons, or some grey-black checked laminated scales.
