I wouldn't mind having a suppressor, but the utility, in my opinion, didn't justify the cost and the mountain of paperwork. Even for a .22 can, that's pretty spendy just so you can plink without earmuffs.
Don't get me wrong- had I the disposable income for that sort of thing, I'd have a pile of 'em, one for each caliber. (I'd also have an indoor, underground shooting range, but that's a different topic entirely. )
But really, you can't hunt with one, mounting one on a concealed-carry gun would be legal suicide if you ever had to use it (besides the concealment issues for a can of any of the heavier calibers) and at the range, a set of foam plugs costs considerably less than $200 and six months' worth of paperwork.
'Course, I also have virtually free use for the asking from the local guy who has a substantial legal collection of suppressed, short-barreled and full-auto hardware. I feel the urge, all I gotta do is make a few phone calls and we'll spend a day at the range. Like they say, why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?
