True, I don't know the laws in other States, and I can definitely see a use for one- like for the big prairie-dog shoots, where one shot won't scatter the rest.
But at least in Alaska, using a "silencer" to hunt is specifically disallowed. So no sneaking up on the rabbits with a suppressed .22 while the James Bond theme song runs through your head.
