he framed his stereo with two pieces of chromed sheet metal separated by a thin gap. then through some means or another he hooked an large capacitor up to these pieces and to the car battery so anyone who tried to pry the radio out absorbed enough electricity to put a bull on its knees as I recall it works as a good deterrent but not very good protection. I guess you could do the same to the door handle
