it a combo of things that helps a new player.the first item is a good non fogging thermal mask.if you cant see you cant play and if your mask hurts it not fun.wear lose clothing a baggy shirt or bdu will slow a ball down.wear a skull cap or some padding there and some hand gloves.(no fat there so hits hurt a little more) cold weather between the fingers is not fun. you can start out with reg pants and shirts but picking up some nee/ellbo or paintball pants will save your body.your barrel size and type of paint and it age will make or break your day of paint.if paintballs are not sold or store right they go bad. (soft) or blow up where they wont fit in any barrel. a good paintball store will let you open a case of paint and look to see if it freak and there no broken paint.on price/brand the better paints have thick stable fill and small seams.they dont pop when fired in your marker or look like scrambled eggs. most stores will cary good brands like pmi/evil/draxxus.. trick is find a ballance between cost and qc of the paint ie it break on a player and not in your marker and will break at a good range not when the player has to be 10 feet from you.. bad paint (google pmi monster balls). you need a small hand towel and bottel of water or lens cleaner for your mask.most players like folding barrel sqeegie and a pod/hopper one.your going to take a hit end end up with scrambled paint in a pod or hopper.(sucks when it happens) if you have extra pods then the goop up one can wait for the dishwasher.hopper ones will degoop a hooper so you can still play for the rest of the day.when you have some extra cash and the marker you want to play will look into a barrel kit with diffent back sizes. todays paint can run from .67x to .69x in size. having the wrong size barrel will let paint roll down it (waste air) or the paint cant be blown down the barrel and just pops in the barrel when fired.) also keep paint cool or you get the dreaded pod log...if you get a pod log all it good for is to put it on a plate with some garnish as a joke.
