The biggest issue with paintball markers (and guns in general) is that there is only so much you can do that will alter the flight performance of your projectile. Especially when you have safety limitations, like those in paintball, that limit the speed you can fire your projectile at.
Also is the fact that some of the so called "revolutionary" improvements have such a small impact that the effort put into making the improvement is a waste of effort for the average shooter.
