It is a friggen meme - Big Business (trademark) is like Big Oil (trademark.)
It isn't over looked. It is demonfied constantly, yet you can not ackowledge a responce here in an internet forum without using the products of business innovation or investment of their time and money. Thousands of those nasty Big Businesses have to exist for you to be able to sit, clothed, in shelter, with running water and toiletries, electricity, and the computer you use to reply on. Without them - none of that.
Stating Big Business or Big Oil is nearly a Goodwin Law.
And your numbers - take half a second and google them - the stockholders, or anybody with a non government retirement plan that isn't entirely in gold own those companies. Your point that they own anything forgoes the point that they themselves are owned by shareholders. And the shareholders will be you if you take charge of your own retirement responcibilites.
Second point: The interplay of money between corportations and government is there because - it works! Lobbying the government, and letting the government put Billions into a corporation, or letting them get tax breaks, or counter actively taxing some business or types of commerce differently is a major part of the problem.
And the problem is a direct correlation with the size of government. A smaller government doesn't have the resources to supply their favorite horse as much. A smaller government, with less rules and controls, a smaller and simpler tax code, and less money collected means a government cannot award and re-distribute money as easily.
Hence, the argument for less 'Chrony Capitalism' should be the argument for a smaller government. It is harder to overlook half a billion dollars in a government that has billions to play with instead of trillions.
The Tax Code has more then 77,000 pages now, it was 45,000 10 years ago. There are more people employeed by the IRS then we had in Iraq.
I have commented on a flat tax, a fair tax, and smaller government.
If you want less problems with Big Business running government, take away the area where they can influence it the most: Take away government lending programs (TARP, Autobailouts, Green Jobs) reduce and simplify the tax code (Flat tax for business) and reduce regulations and tariffs. Shrink government in total, and you will shrink Chrony Capitalism and the role of Big Business in government.
