Ours was lower key than usual, the kids made it through the snow and everything worked out. I may have spent as much on dinner as on gifts, if not then it was close. With the kids and all we've gone to the "draw a name from a hat" between family and it's worked well - but I've drawn the same name 3 years running and am running out of gags.
Dinner was good - a 10 pound rib roast and 3 bottles of a decent wine with the right trimmings. We had 10 folks here for the meal and so there was plenty for all and more than enough so I can make some nice meals and soups this next week (I have a weakness for beef & barley soups so the bones will go into that pot tomorrow).
I got the replacement weather station that I wanted and some other dinguses I needed/wanted but wouldn't buy for myself. I should be putting up the weather station today if my son makes it over - I've lost almost all the strength in my left leg now and so I'll make him do all the roof stuff.
