There are still plenty of jerks out there that think, since the marker was meant to shoot people as a sport, that it's "okay" (for whatever definition of 'okay') to shoot people who don't want to be shot. Which is like saying that because a single good hard punch is rarely fatal, it's "okay" to wander up to any random person and slug 'em.
... and in this day and age, depending on where you are, the person you are hitting might whip out and return fire with a very lethal and very real firearm.
